The Great Pacific Garbage Patch

What in the hell is this?? What kind of people are we as aworld that we can let something like this happen?
What is the hell is Laura talking about???? I know that is what you were just thinking right??
Well let me tell you, somewhere between California and Japan is a large area of plastic. When I saw large it is because it is shifting and changing and I cant find a good size. It ranges between twice the size of Texas to the size of the continental U.S.

You can find a lot of information on this just type pacific plastic gyre in at Google. Here are some other good links.

I have seen it look like that here in los angeles, anytime it rains all the trash washes to the beach. makes me sick to see it and they do end up closing the ocean due to high bacteria levels. We really do need to cut down on packaging, and do more recycling!
